Departure at 07:15h from Elsloo for our first long auto-tour. I never drove more then 150km in one day, so it was kinda exciting! But it went terrific we arrived at 16:30h (at 15:00h we crossed the German/Austrian border). Luckily we had no traffic jams, even though it was a 'black-saturday'. That night we had a nice dinner in a restaurant in Silbertal. All day long sunny and warm weather.
This day we made 2 short walks: during the day we walked nearby our accommodation and after dinner in the evening we walked towards the Teufelsbach wasserfall (waterfall). Sunshine all day.
Our first 'real' tour and my girlfriends first mountain tour above 2000m! Because it was such nice weather we decided to go to the Silvretta region and climb the Bielerspitze (2545m). Great tour with a superb view of the Silvretta region.
Done some shopping at the Zimbapark shopping mall in Bürs. After that we drove into the Brandnertal just to have a quick look at the little cottage we stayed in during the '90's. It was still there ;) Warm and a lot of sunshine. Later on rainy and stormy.
A tour you'll never forget: Üble Schlucht in the Bregenzer Wald region is a spectacular and deep ravine. Because pictures say more then a 1000 words, just have a look and be surprised! The weather: it was cloudy, but that didn't bother us because we were in a deep ravine. There was also sunshine, but in the afternoon there were some showers.
We visited Schruns and Bludenz in the afternoon. Just to walk around, have a drink ... real tourist things actually. But we had a great time and that's what counts! Lots of clouds, but also sunshine. In the evening some showers.
It's tour time again! This day we have excellent hiking and climbing weather, although the clouds were hanging low (down to 2000m). We decided to take the Golmerbahn (cable railway) up to 1890m at Golm-Grüneck and from there by foot up to Golmer Joch and Geiss Spitze (2334m). From the Geiss Spitze downwards towards Lindauer Hütte and then through the Gauertal back to the parking lot where we parked our car.
Went shopping in Zimbapark in Bürs and made a small hikingtour in Silbertal in the afternoon (towards OberBuchen). Sunshine and clouds. In the evening some rain.
No Schnitzel this time ;) .. We had a nice dinner at a Chinese restaurant called 'Jasmine' (in the village Lorüns). During the day there were lots of clouds and in the evening some rain.
For this day we planned a tour to the Kreuzspitze (Grosses Walsertal region), but we cancelled that, because my girlfriend didn't feel well. Instead I made a tour on my own in Silbertal. I called it the Kristberg Roundtour. It was cloudy but still nice hiking weather.
The first day it really rained all day. Instead of a tour we went shopping at the SparMarkt in Bürs. Luckily it was not too cold.
The second day it rained during the day ... Lots of clouds, not so warm. Visited Schruns, just to walk around and to have something to eat.
An extra sportive day: we climbed the Europatreppe 4000, a stair with 4000 steps :) We managed to climb it in about 1½ hours including breaks. Cloudy, but lots of sunshine.
Our last tour during this holiday. We decided to go into Brandnertal and Lünersee and climb up to the summit of Schafgafall (2414m). Later that evening we had a nice dinner at the InterSpar in Bürs. Lots of clouds, after 15:00h some showers. Not so warm.
Sadly we had to go home again ... but we could look back at a superb holiday!
