Ost-Tirol is the smallest state of Austria. Do not confuse it with Tirol, because that is another part of Austria! Lienz is the capitol city of Ost-Tirol and by far the biggest city of Ost-Tirol.

Famous valleys are the Prägratental, Defereggental, Pustertal, Gailtal and Lesachtal. In the north there is the Alpen mainridge with the famous Gross Venediger and Gross Glockner (Austria's highest summit). On the west and south Ost-Tirol connects to Italy and on the east to Kärnten.

Like in the rest of Austria, there are many many beautiful places to see and visit. Here are just a few sight worth seeings in Ost-Tirol:

• Visit Sillian and take the cable railway to Gadain - Thurntaler.
• Drive along the Kalser Glocknerstrasse (mountain road) with a spectacular view of the Gross Glockner
• Visit Schloss Bruck in Lienz.

Oh .. you can also visit Italy! For example visit the town Cortina D'Ampezzo ... or walk around the famous Drei Zinnen. All in the famous Dolomites!
